Margate - Based:

Art Rebels Workshops - The Turner

Free creative workshops for families, inspired by ideas and artwork in the Turner Contemporary Open which runs until February 20.On Saturday and Sunday (February 12 and 13) learn how to use a peg loom by making your own tapestry or contributing to a collaborative piece. Then from Wednesday to Sunday, during half term, discover how to make a periscope or invent your own gallery gadget.

 

Make N Paint - Hornby

Hornby Visitor Centre, Westwood Industrial Estate, Margate on Saturday, February 12 and Tuesday, February 15 from 10am to 2pm. Build and paint a kit of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk Vc. For just £5 per person (£2.50 for concessions including children age 5-15) you get to make the kit, paint it with the correct colours and take it home on a stand.

 

Pow Festival - Lantern Making Workshop

Come and make a lantern to bring to the opening of the Power of Women Festival 2022! Workshops will be running Wednesday 16th to Saturday 19th Feb at St Johns Community Hall in Margate and facilitated by Jodi Watson, Wantsum Arts in partnership with Power of Women and Beyond The Page. In this 2.5 - 3 hour workshop you will learn how to make a safe and beautiful lantern from scratch with all materials provided. Wednesday 16th Feb – 10am-1pm

POW Festival - Banner workshop

16TH FEBRUARY 2022, 4pm - 7pm Click here to book Join us for this free crafting workshop to get creative and be inspired. Artist Angela Wooi will be hosting this event, helping you to make flags and banners for our procession on Friday 4th March that will launch Power of Women Festival 2022.

Come down to the Margate Caves, create with us, drink tea, eat cake, laugh, chat and share stories. All genders welcome. Children age 9+ welcome with an accompanying adult. This event is free entry. There will be lots of materials available for a fun session of crafting. Please feel free to bring any fabric scraps, wool or thread you might have available, so we can keep this workshop as up-cycled and eco-friendly as possible.

Complimentary refreshments will be provided.

ACT! YOUTH VOLUNTEER GROUP Tuesdays: Time: 17:00 - 19:00

Come & join ACT!, our Youth Volunteer group to take on community projects, fundraising, gain access to Volunteer opportunities and learn new skills. This is our free, open access group for young people aged 14 & over who want to take a more active role within the local community and fundraise for good causes. (ACT – Action Community Thanet youth volunteers). New members welcome, we meet every Tuesday from 5-7pm.For ages 14-19 (up to 25 with a disability). BAND FACTORY (MUSIC LAB)

Tuesdays: Time: 19:00 - 21:00

Join Dave & Jamie from 7-9pm every Tuesday for our free Band Factory session. In these sessions you have access to instruments, platforms such as GarageBand, Bandlab & Charanga, the studio, space to practice and two tutors to guide & encourage. This session is aimed at young people aged 14+. Your safety is our priority. Pie continues to follow government guidance for Covid-19. High-level cleaning procedures are in place and sanitising stations are available throughout our venues. We respect every individual’s choice to wear a mask.

JUNIOR YOUTH CLUB (THANET)

Thursday: Time: 17:00 - 19:00

This is our free open access session for young people aged 8 – 12, every Thursday from 5 7pm.Activities on offer include sport, games, pool, table tennis, art & craft, cookery and music.As well as all of these activities there is also space for those who just want to relax with their friends.Your safety is our priority. Pie continues to follow government guidance for Covid-19. High-level cleaning procedures are in place and sanitising stations are available throughout our venues. RAMSGATE STREET-BASED SESSIONS

Time: 18:00 - 20:30 Our staff will be out & about in Ramsgate every Monday & Friday evenings, look out for them in their PFM hoodies. Activities include street based games, music & chat. Ages 11+, 6-8:30pm.
