Our new AEE Recordings team are taking over the Thanet music scene

Meet the team

Tom, Joe, Lulu, Max, Esther and Spencer make up our brilliant new AEE Recordings team. Right now they are establishing a new identity for our in-house record label. We have two sound engineers, an A&R assistant, a graphic designer, a social media manager, and a label manager who are all eager to bring you the best underground local talent.

Young people are the future of music

By giving the power to young people, I believe we end up with the genesis of a new and better music industry. Young people are forward thinking, they understand social and cultural issues that affect music, and they are voices for unheard communities. That’s exactly what our new team are doing - running the label independently to represent these communities.

What are their goals for the label?

I asked the team about their ambitions for the label:

"Our aim for the label is to establish a youth-run creative hub to serve the community and offer a platform for the talented voices of Thanet and Kent. We want to empower young people to forge successful careers in the music industry and showcase what they are capable of when given the opportunity."

“There’s so much talent in Margate and Thanet, but it’s rare that we see the full potential of what young people have to offer. We often see artists and their music, but in today’s generation, so much more is being said beyond the sound. My aim as social media manager is to showcase the artist for not only their talent in music, but also, their values and beliefs. I want the world to see that music goes beyond the sound and lyrics, but also shapes our stance in today’s society.”
