Young Brothers

Young Brothers are a group of young Roma teenagers from Margate, who established their shared passion for music through an 8 week project led by Ollie Briggs and funded by Arts Council England. The group have since recorded their first song, 'Rise Up' and shot the video below. The project had it's first public reception at Turner Contemporary in September 2017 and gained local press attention. The group are now recording further material with Tom Vek as they continue to explore their rich cultural heritage and emerging talents through music.

Culture in any city depends on people stepping up to provide a space for it to happen in, to give it a home. That’s exactly what the Arts Education Exchange are doing in Margate with xChange Studios, and I couldn’t be more supportive.

Having the opportunity to be creative was incredibly important to finding a path through education as a kid. xChange Studios would not only be a great addition to Margate as a town but it would offer a great chance for all kids to find and explore a creative outlet for themselves.
