Chair of Trustees
I have been a youth and community worker for 35 years, working with young people and adults who work with them throughout this time. In later years I qualified as a person centred therapist and now senior lecturer at the University of East London. I have worked with young people, crime, gangs, mental health and girls and young women particularly and have an interest in young people's role in communities and engagement.
The thing that excites me about working for AEE is - everything! it is a vibrant, energetic, creative organisation which focuses on young people their needs and opportunities. There are endless ideas and ways to encourage young people to be their best selves.
When I am not involved in making things (anything from jewellery to cakes), I enjoy reading and theatre, and anything that means enjoying others being creative. I love long walks on the beach with my dogs and spending time with my family and friends. I am also interested in young people's mental health and wellbeing, education, engagement and community development.
