Joe
Music Lead
Growing up in the North West seaside town of Morecambe, I have seen first-hand the social and economic challenges that seaside communities face and I am deeply aware of the transformative, nurturing power of the arts in such towns.
I spent my early twenties playing drums in a band and performed all over the UK, Europe and Japan before studying Music Production at Leeds College of Music.
I am interested in exploring and finding ways to challenge the cultural inequalities and differing access to creative opportunities that exist between children and young people in our society. I feel extremely lucky to work for AEE, an organisation that totally aligns with my personal beliefs. I value young people and place great importance in unlocking their potential, building confidence and widening aspirations.
Outside of work I am an avid reader, enthusiastic visitor to galleries and exhibitions, am deeply interested in history and politics and the culture and sociology that surrounds football.
